Dave had less than a 1% chance of getting into West Point, so he went and did it anyway. Dave Swanson is a combat Veteran who experienced over 100 firefights during his tour of duty. He was a Platoon Leader during the infamous 'Black Sunday' in Sadr City, Iraq in 2004, an event that is now highlighted in the series, "The Long Road Home" on National Geographic. He is the author of two books, "The Dot on the Left" and "Resilient Leadership."
Swanson aims to identify and activate the hidden potential in individuals and processes. Through all of his endeavors, he motivates and empowers change in others. Dave also reaches high school and college students to help change the attitude and path of those labeled as 'under-performers.' Dave is passionate about educating and advancing our nation's youth and has become known as a "Millennial Whisperer" due to the success of his leadership training for millennials. Dave's LAWs have enabled him to bicycle across America, summit Mt. Rainier, and receive the Leadership and Service Award from the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Leadership.
