David Silverman is an animator and director, best known for his work on The Simpsons. David has been involved with the series from the very beginning, animating on all of the original Simpsons shorts for The Tracey Ullman Show. He went on to serve as Supervening Director of Animation for several years and currently serves as a producer. He has directed numerous episodes, as well as directing The Simpsons Movie.
In 2012 David directed the theatrical short Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
Other film work includes Monsters, Inc. (Pixar) for which Silverman was a co-director. He has also worked on the animated films The Road to El Dorado (DreamWorks), Ice Age and Robots (Blue Sky), and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (WB).
David plays the tuba and has performed his flaming sousaphone at events like Burning Man. He is currently a member of the LA band Vaud and the Villains, and the Sea Funk Brass Band.
